“We will see her for the first time in 3 months.”

Karen M., a parent in Catherine's coaching program, after asking to take her granddaughter to the library. Results vary.

You love your child. Somehow you ended up on the outside.

  • Your calls and texts get short answers, or none.
  • Holidays feel tense, or you spend them apart.
  • You measure every word, and it still comes out wrong.
  • You have grandchildren you rarely get to see.
  • You said sorry. You gave space. Nothing changed.
Hear this first:
You are not a bad parent. You were taught how to raise a child. Nobody taught you how to parent an adult.

She was the child who pulled away.

At twenty-five, Catherine told her father she wanted a relationship, but not the way it had always been. This is what he said back:

Cath, I made a lot of mistakes with you. I can't undo those. The only thing I can do is give you my word that I will be the dad that you need, and not the dad that you had.

He was in his fifties when he made that promise. He kept it into his eighties. That is where the name of this summit, and the title of her book, come from.

It's never too late. But it takes a new approach.

Most parents keep doing more of what already isn't working. Over two live days you'll see why, and what to do in its place.

The old approach

  • Reach out more often
  • Explain your side again
  • Apologize for everything
  • Wait and hope they come around

The new approach

  • See the pattern your family is in
  • Find what your child is protecting themselves from
  • Change the one thing you control: how you show up
  • Make a first move that feels safe to them

What happens each day

Day 1Saturday, October 17 · 12–2 PM Eastern
Live on Zoom

How We Got Here

  • Name your pattern. There are six common ways a parent and an adult child drift apart. You'll find yours.
  • Find the hidden condition. Many adult children are not distant. They are performing. You'll see what yours feels they must do to keep your love.
  • Start your map. You fill in the first half of your Never Too Late Map.
Day 2Sunday, October 18 · 12–2 PM Eastern
Live on Zoom

Your First Move

  • What to stop. The well-meant habits that keep the door shut.
  • What to say first. The first words, and when the time is right to use them.
  • Finish your map. You leave with a clear next step for your own family.

You do the work on your own relationship, step by step, with Catherine and her team guiding you live.

What parents say after working with Catherine

I sent a request to take our granddaughter to the local library, and within 2 minutes, she said yes. I can hardly believe it. We will see her for the first time in 3 months.

My son, [daughter-in-law] and grandson took me out for my 80th birthday and it actually went super well! When they dropped me off at home they all, I mean ALL, got out of the vehicle and initiated hugs with me!
Kathy S.PACT member
I’ve been learning and working Catherine’s PARENT Method for a little over 2 months now, and I have just experienced the most memorable, loving & satisfying 5 days with my son, [daughter-in-law] and 9 month old grandson!
Rita M.PACT member
I put in practice the information from module one this past weekend with my oldest son. I can honestly say what a complete difference it has made. We had such a peaceful and relaxing visit, and I can tell that he felt very heard and accepted.
Jane B.PACT member
My daughter actually called me on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday! It lasted about 10 seconds, but it was a start, and I appreciate that.
Barbara P.PACT member
I sent my adult child a text, and she responded: “I appreciate your honesty and your apology. I’m open to talking when you’re ready.” These are major steps forward.

Questions parents ask

What is this, exactly?
It's a live online event. For two days, Catherine Hickem and her team teach live on Zoom and walk you through your own Never Too Late Map. You watch from home.
When is it, and how long is each day?
Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18. Each day runs two hours, from 12 to 2 PM Eastern.
Is it really live?
Yes. Both days are taught live. After you register, we email you the Zoom link and send reminders before each day.
Will there be a replay?
The summit is built to be watched live. Recordings are available as an upgrade after you register.
What if it isn't for me?
Come to Day 1. If it isn't for you, email [email protected] before Day 2 starts and we'll refund your $27. You keep the book either way.
When will my book arrive?
We mail your hard copy after you register. We ship to U.S. addresses.
I've never used Zoom. Will I manage?
Yes. After you register, we email you one link. You click it to join. A computer, tablet or phone all work.
Will this bring my child back?
No one can promise that, and we won't. What we can promise is two days of clear teaching on what's going on between you and your child, and what's in your control to change.
I've tried everything. Why would this be different?
Most parents who come have tried a lot. The summit is about why those tries did not land, and what is still in your control.
My child won't speak to me at all. Is this still for me?
Yes. Both days are about your side of the relationship. You can work on that even with no contact.
I live outside the U.S. Can I join?
Right now we can only mail the book to U.S. addresses, and checkout asks for one. If you live elsewhere, email [email protected] before you register.
Is this therapy?
No. This is education and coaching. It's not therapy and it doesn't replace care from a licensed professional.
Is this religious?
No. The teaching is practical and based in psychology. Parents of any faith, or none, are welcome.
